The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men.... When Doll Plans Fail.

I have quite a signifigant amount of incomings this year.

Like most collectors I attempt to put a curb on my purchases, swaps and outgoings, and like most collectors, I fail miserably. It's bad enough that I collect something that continually comes out with new, exciting, enticing things, but to add to the pressure, they also happen to be things that enable me to do my favourite thing in the world. Character design.

So it's little surprise that my carefully stressed rule "NO MORE TILL I AM SETTLED IN MY NEW HOUSE" went flying out the window. All thanks to this little thing-

She's Fairyland's newest evil temptation, the PukiFee Luna.
I've known for a while I'd get another PukiFee girl, but I had no idea what it would be, and was quite content to just sit and wait for one to come along.

Well Fairyland answered my call quite a lot sooner than I'd like. Luna appeared for their Summer release and instantly won me over. She stormed in, fully created in character and occupied my mind. I needed to get her, and get her soon, the demands of her rapidly forming personality over rode many other dolls that have been on the list a great deal longer.

I resisted for some time, I really did, but it crumbled with an offer to join a layaway and the threat of losing this adorable Fullset (My PukiFee Ante, Elsie is a little Lolita tea maid, and suited that dress in the picture to perfection...) due to the popularity- it's sold out once already, I have no doubts it will sell out again, and Fairyland only renews fullsets a few times before removing them permanantly.

So Zula is now on Layaway. She's a Whiteskin and is destined for a BRIGHT red wig. She will join the cast as keeper of the Castle Armory.

*sighs*

Creepy comes in a box.

Creepy has arrived in two separate parcels, four days apart.

Evainne arrived first, the twin sister of Avery, my equally pale, equally ghost eyed Shiwoo. She's a Pipi, and arrived with suitably spooky default eyes as you can see to the left. It was almost a pity to change them over, but her ghostly eyes had been planned form the start to match her brother (and besides, I have a floating head vampire boy that was happy to receive them)
I ordered her awhile before my erm, rather epically huge order period. She's not the most pushy of dolls, but I really did want the pair, Avery and Evainne together. She eyes and wig have been waiting for some time.

She's now just waiting on some Angelheim horns to complete her look. Photos when I'm done.
Four days after Evainne, Valentine, a cheeky Star Cheshire appears. I ordered him precisely a month before he shipped, making a pretty awesome effort on Pipos' part!

Cheshires are a bit of a thing with me. I LOVE them. Creepy grinning, bug eyed kitties. The Star Cheshire was extra enticing, as he was only available this year in basic. Though i planned on the normal Cheshire, Valentine got his way...

Keh heh heh... as it should be!

Being so new, they're jsut settling in. Evainne is almost done, bar her horns, but Valentine needs lots of work... keep an eye here for how they go!

A word from the Softskin

A friend of mine recently pointed out that she had blogs for her dolls, blogs for her particular collection of Lishes, but no blog for HER about her dolls.

She created Soft Skin Tales to remedy that immediately.

Now I have a blog for MY dolls, a blog for MY particular collection of Shiwoos and I also have one for my doll business, Indollgence. But i don't have one for my collecting, which became painfully obvious when just received my newest incoming, and realized I didn't have anywhere to gush about her!

I thought it was such a splendid idea, I did my own.

So welcome to the practical side of my doll collection. The buying, the making,  the face-ups, the decision process, the layaway and the very human side of collecting non sentient resin people.
